Tyre Preparation

OTR Tyres carry out several processes to prepare a tyre for retread production.

Initial Inspection

Tyres are inspected thoroughly for cuts, punctures and any type of separation prior to retreading.

Buffing

Tyres are 'detreaded' to remove their old, worn tread design and then buffed down to exact computer controlled specifications.

Skiving

The buffed tyre is inspected for any hidden defects before being skived to remove any damage, leaving the tyre ready for the new compound to be applied.
