Site Survey
Surveying a site provides an unbiased overview of the conditions under which tyres are operating. The physicality of the terrain, the vehicles used and the everyday operational practices contribute greatly to tyre wear and tear.
Haul roads, loading and dumping areas are surveyed - surface conditions, levels of spillage, loose material and gradients in the road are recorded along with distances travelled around the site.
Inspecting the fleet is an integral part of the survey - the vehicles working at the site and the tyres in use. Tyre choice, tread patterns, tyre compounds, tyre pressure, rim and valve hardware are all assessed. Typical tyre damage is noted and scrap tyres are inspected to see why they have been removed.
The survey enables an assessment of the performances customers are getting from tyres and what on-site factors contribute to tyre performances.
