OTR's global operations were further enhanced in 2005, with the significant move into Australia, teaming up with one of the world's largest mining and exploration companies - Rio Tinto Plc.
The aim of the partnership was to produce world class 57" retread tyres to help Rio Tinto maintain tyre supply during the ongoing earthmover tyre shortage whilst significantly reducing the detrimental environmental effects resulting from the disposal of old tyres.
The new retread plant, based in Perth, Western Australia, combines the latest tyre manufacturing equipment with high quality retread production, immaculate safety history and a team of skilled engineers.
Australia's need for organisations to safely deliver expert tyre management solutions to the mining industry has enabled OTR to develop their tyre management services. Operating from a new base in Welshpool, Perth, OTR have secured Tyre Management and Service contracts with Fortescue Metals Group and look set to expand their service operations in the region.
