Unique Midlands Service from OTR Tyres

OTR Tyres Ltd, based at Clover Nook Industrial Park, Alfreton, have developed an earthmover tyre service which is unique in the UK - providing earthmover tyre users (in quarries, waste management / landfill operations, civil engineering projects, open cast mining, etc) with an integrated tyre management service.

The company's overall aim is to reduce tyre related 'downtime' - when the huge vehicles have a tyre or puncture problem. OTR's Midlands Depot Manager Neil Flint said: "We want our customers to have their machines working again as quickly as possible so we have relocated service vehicles and tyre engineers to key customer areas. Response time to site will decrease and service will be improved."

The new satellite Service Operating Sites are based in Leicestershire and up in the Peaks, near Buxton, within striking distance of a cluster of quarries. In addition to the Midlands expansion, OTR have developed Service Operating Sites at Shap, Heathrow, Cannock, Okehampton and Thetford supplementing the 9 regional depots throughout the UK. OTR have also introduced a dedicated tyre repair engineer for the Midlands region at the Alfreton factory which, as Neil Flint added: "has made a marked difference in repair turnaround time." The improved onsite service is just one initiative introduced by OTR in their quest to reduce tyre related downtime. Flint added: "With the worldwide earthmover tyre shortage still a big problem for some customers, good tyre management is essential - and OTR provide that service here in the UK."
