OTR's manufacturing plant in
Australia is considered to be
one of the most hi-tech
retreading facilities, servicing
the shortfall in earthmoving
tyres for Rio Tinto's mining
operations across the country.
Sophisticated computerised
equipment enables precision re-engineering of worn earthmover
tyre casings for circulating back into service.
The turnkey operation has only been in operation for just over
twelve months, and is already producing a wide range of tyres
to cater for the mining industry demands.
Sizes range from the small 23.5R25 grader tyre to a massive 7.2
ton 65/65-57 deep tread front end loader tyre. New
developments will soon enable the facility to further
close the performance gap on some of the new tyre brand
names out there in the market place.
